Groundworks complete on a new life-sciences facility

The groundworks package on a new life-sciences facility has handed over on programme, ready for superstructure to commence.

AAC has completed the groundworks package on a new life-sciences facility, with handover to the superstructure team taking place on programme this month. The package covered bulk excavation, attenuation, foundations, drainage and the slab.

What was delivered

  • Bulk excavation and earthworks across the full footprint
  • Pile caps and ground beams to the structural design
  • External drainage and attenuation, tied into the site-wide network
  • Ground-bearing slab handed over to the superstructure follow-on

How we sequenced it

Life-science facilities run on tight floor-level tolerances and on a programme that has to hand over to a clean-room follow-on without rework. Our team set out the slab levels to a single-millimetre tolerance and built the pour windows around the M&E first-fix requirements.

You only get one shot at a life-science slab. We don't move on until it's surveyed, signed and accepted.Site Engineering team

What's next on the package

Follow-on works begin shortly: superstructure, MEP first-fix and external infrastructure. AAC continues to provide site logistics and HSEQ support across the wider programme.
